Airbus, a global aerospace pioneer, and Tribhuvan University, Nepal\u2019s largest public university, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a holistic partnership to boost the Himalayan nation\u2019s human capital in aerospace. The collaboration will focus on academic development, research, training, industry exposure and joint initiatives in aerospace technologies.<\/p>\n
J\u00fcrgen Westermeier, President and Managing Director, Airbus South Asia, and Prof. (Dr.) Sushil Bahadur Bajracharya, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, signed the MoU in the presence of Sasmit Pokharel, Minister of Education and Sports of Nepal, and Ambassador of France to Nepal H.E. Virginie Corteval. Senior officials of the Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation ministry and executives of Airbus were also present on the occasion.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the signing ceremony, J\u00fcrgen Westermeier, President and Managing Director, Airbus South Asia, said, \u201cA core element of a strong aerospace ecosystem is talent development. Under this partnership with Tribhuvan University, we will bring Airbus\u2019 global expertise to support capacity building in Nepal through training and skilling, especially in aerospace engineering and digital. The MoU underlines Airbus\u2019 commitment to Nepal\u2019s aviation sector through a partnership-driven approach towards ecosystem development.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re entering this MoU at a time when our university is not only focused on establishing technical exchanges with global industries, but also when the Nepali aviation sector is at a turning point,\u201d said the Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Prof. Dr. Sushil Bahadur Bajracharya, speaking at the programme. \u201cCollaboration with an aerospace giant like Airbus will help us strengthen and develop our curricula, which we hope will also contribute to enhancing Nepal\u2019s aviation capabilities. With this MoU, we are confident that the aerospace sector in Nepal faces a bright future.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the MoU, Airbus and Tribhuvan University will collaborate in the fields of research, teaching and training to deepen students\u2019 understanding of the scientific, technological and management topics pertaining to aerospace and aviation. Both entities will work together to support academic curriculum development related to aerospace, aviation and digital technologies, including AI\/ML, advanced analytics and cybersecurity.<\/p>\n
Additionally, both sides will explore potential synergies for industry experience through Airbus experts, partnerships with international institutes for aerospace-related projects, internship and placement opportunities for students and joint events such as symposiums, technical festivals, conferences and workshops on research.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
